Christi has informed us that she is retiring. It is bittersweet. She was our 1st employee when we went into business 26 years ago. However, we are thrilled for her that she is making this leap into the unknown and making a new life for herself. We sat with Christi to ask a few questions about her time at Boca Terry.
Boca Terry: When did you start working for Boca Terry and what was it like?
Christi Smith: I started to work for Boca Terry 1998. I was very excited because it was a pretty young Company with lots of room to grow. The owners were very supportive and made me feel very welcome. I felt right at home, besides Florida was a new environment for me coming from California.
BT: What did you like best about your career?
CS: The opportunity to work independently, having a forward-thinking, working for a supportive company and staff that realizes employees are their greatest asset. Getting to know and create a very loyal customer base throughout the years, many of them that have become personal friends. Not many people get to say that.
BT: How has the industry changed since you began?
CS: The market has become very competitive. When I first began, we were one of the few companies in hospitality that offered bathrobes. In the years since, the market has become more saturated with businesses offering bathrobes similar to ours.
BT: What are some memorable, unforgettable moments you shared with Boca Terry?
CS: I don’t have one single moment but I have many blessings in my life. Landing my current job. Getting to know so many nice people. Having super nice co-workers and bosses. It has been a great ride, that I surely will miss.
