The numbers are in for the hospitality and traveling industry in the Caribbean, and it turns out that 2014 was a very good year. In fact, the islands are probably celebrating even as you read this. The industry experienced record breaking numbers of travelers in the past year!
According to the Caribbean Tourism Organization, “The Caribbean welcomed a record 26.3 million tourists in 2014, a 5.3% rise over the previous year. These visitors spent US$29.2 billion, itself a record.” We can’t be happier for our partners who are in the Caribbean hospitality sector!
Our Predictions
So, what about 2015?
The tropical island paradise is a well known vacation, frequented by Americans, Europeans, and the like—and it is, clearly, only growing in popularity. The Caribbean has actually experienced five straight years of recurring growth. That, paired with an increasingly strengthening global and local economy sounds like good news for our nearby friends in the islands.
We want to extend huge congratulations to those working in this field across the Caribbean. As for 2015, we believe that the Caribbean could be ready to experience their busiest year, yet!
That means that you’ll have to be very prepared if you are in the hospitality industry. Now is the time to start preparing for an influx of visitors. Make sure you have all of your cocktail umbrellas, towels, and bathrobes ready!
