1. The Berkshires, Massachusetts

The northeastern region of our country is known for it’s outstanding fall foliage. Found atop every fall-lover’s to do list is the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts. The red, orange, and yellow leaves blend harmoniously with the rolling hills and gentle streams.

Expected Peak: First Week in October

2. Hagerstown, Maryland

Close to the Pennsylvania border, just a couple hours from our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., and only a short drive from the popular downtown Frederick area, Hagerstown is an outstanding place to find fall foliage at its best. The Appalachian Mountain range traces hills and valleys through this town; take a quick hike on a trail and become utterly engulfed in the colors of the season!

3. Columbia River George, Oregon

Heading out to the Western portion of our country, we must to point out one of our absolute favorites. The view is unreal. Trek across a pedestrian bridge and become overtaken by the view of a large waterfall, powerful waterfall, all set to the backdrop of nature’s finest colors.

Expected Peak: Mid to Late October

4. Aspen, Colorado

Aspen has long been a favorite among fall foliage fans. The unique white bark and bright yellow leaves of the Aspen trees contrast starkly against the dark green needles of lively evergreens. Go for the gold; head to Colorado in the fall!

5. Leavenworth, Washington

Washington is one of the most gorgeous states to enjoy the fall foliage. More specifically, Leavenworth is known for its vibrant hues of reds, oranges, and purples against the bright blue sky. With a background of majestic mountains, fall in Leavenworth is heaven-worthy!
