BT: Many people know you from your time as Miss Tourism Dominican Republic, your work as a soap opera actress, and as a MasterChef TV Host in the Dominican Republic. Can you tell us a little about that chapter of your life and what you learned from those experiences?
MQ: That chapter of my life was exciting, dynamic, and deeply transformative. Representing the Dominican Republic and working in television and entertainment as a soap opera actress and MasterChef TV host taught me discipline, confidence, professionalism, and the importance of connecting with people from all walks of life.
Being in the public eye helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different environments and expectations. It also taught me how to perform under pressure while always striving for excellence and authenticity.
One of the most valuable lessons I carry with me from that time is the importance of building genuine human connections, whether with an audience, a team, or clients. Those experiences shaped who I am today and continue to influence the way I approach my work in hospitality and sales.
BT: Your career path is incredibly unique. How did you make the transition from entertainment and public life into the hospitality industry?
MQ: Although entertainment and hospitality may seem very different, both industries are centered around creating memorable experiences for people. As I explored new professional opportunities, I realized that hospitality allowed me to continue building relationships and helping businesses enhance their guests’ experiences.
My transition into sales felt natural because I enjoy connecting with people, understanding their needs, and providing solutions that add value. The ability to translate my communication skills into building long-term client relationships has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.
In addition, I am fortunate to be able to continue maintaining a connection with television and media opportunities while working in hospitality, which allows me to balance both passions. Each experience complements the other, strengthening my communication skills and keeping me engaged in both creative and professional environments.
BT: How has your previous experience in front of audiences, media, and entertainment helped you succeed in sales and client relationships today?
MQ: My background has been incredibly valuable in my sales career. It taught me how to listen, communicate clearly, and build trust quickly. In sales, relationships are everything, and being comfortable engaging with diverse people helps me understand client needs more effectively.
Whether I am presenting Boca Terry products or discussing hospitality solutions, my focus is always on creating meaningful relationships and providing exceptional service that supports my clients’ goals.
BT: When you first started at Boca Terry, what surprised you most about the hospitality textiles industry?
MQ: I was surprised by how much thought and detail go into every aspect of the guest experience. Something as simple as a robe, towel, or linen can significantly impact how a guest feels during their stay.
I quickly learned that hospitality textiles are not just functional products; they are an essential part of creating comfort, luxury, and lasting impressions for guests.
BT: As someone with strong ties to the Dominican Republic, how do you see the hospitality market evolving there?
MQ: The Dominican Republic continues to grow as one of the strongest tourism destinations in the Caribbean. The market is evolving toward more luxury, wellness, and personalized guest experiences.
Hotels and resorts are investing in higher-quality amenities and upgraded spa experiences to meet increasing guest expectations. I see continued growth in this direction, with strong opportunities for premium hospitality products across the country.
BT: What opportunities do you see for Boca Terry products within Dominican hotels, resorts, spas, and vacation properties?
MQ: The opportunities are very strong. The Dominican Republic has a thriving hospitality industry where guest comfort and luxury are top priorities.
Boca Terry products, especially our robes, towels, and spa collections, are an excellent fit because they combine quality, comfort, and durability. I am especially excited about continuing to grow our presence in this market, where we already have strong customers, while also expanding our client base and strengthening long-term partnerships.
It is also important to me that we ensure consistent inventory availability and reliable service so our clients can always meet the expectations of their guests without interruption.
BT: Do you have a favorite Boca Terry product? What makes it stand out to you?
MQ: One of my favorite Boca Terry products is the Microfiber French Terry robe. It is incredibly soft, lightweight, elegant, and comfortable, making it a perfect balance between luxury and practicality.
Guests love how comfortable it feels, and hotels appreciate its durability and easy maintenance. It truly represents Boca Terry’s commitment to quality, comfort, and thoughtful design.
8. What does exceptional guest comfort mean to you, and how do Boca Terry products help create that experience?
Exceptional guest comfort means making people feel welcomed, relaxed, and genuinely cared for from the moment they arrive. It is about creating an experience where every detail contributes to relaxation, ease, and lasting positive memories.
Boca Terry products play a key role in achieving this by providing consistent quality and comfort that guests immediately notice. Whether it is stepping into a plush robe after a spa treatment or using soft, high-quality towels, these small details elevate the entire guest experience.
On a personal level, I deeply value this sense of hospitality, which is why it has also influenced my wedding planning. I will be using the Microfiber French Terry white robes as wedding souvenirs for my guests with a special touch, each guest’s first name embroidered on their robe. I love the idea of sharing something elegant, practical, and meaningful that reflects comfort and appreciation during such a special moment in my life.
BT: Finally, what are you most excited about for the future, both personally and professionally?
MQ: Personally, I am excited about entering a beautiful new chapter in my life, especially planning my upcoming wedding and spending meaningful time with my family. It is a very special season, and I am truly looking forward to it.
Professionally, I am excited to continue growing relationships with hospitality partners while expanding Boca Terry’s presence in the Dominican Republic, the Caribbean, and other key markets.
